Are Data Entry Jobs Legit or Just Scams?
There are several ways that you can receive an offer for a data entry opportunity scam. You can put yourself right in the path of a mailing list by filling out a form. Data entry business scam artists will buy that list and begin to target you in their emails. Once you are on their list, be prepared to receive a load of information.
Sites like Craigslist are a big target for these data entry job scams. Using the employment area, they add jobs in the data entry section. They use your city and information that appears to come from someone in your city. Once you send them your information, you have placed your name on the list. More than likely that list will be sold several times.
When looking at a job on Craigslist, keep this in mind:
- The job contains no information that would be known only by a resident. Job postings include some information that will key you in to what part of town they are in. A real employer knows that if a job is across town, you may not want to apply for it. They know that if they don’t say where the job is, they will get calls asking. Data entry job scams have someone posting the jobs that do not live in the city so they can’t give that information.
- There is no way to reach them. When you apply for a job, you usually have someone to send your resume to or phone. Even if the company is not listed on the posting, it will give you a person’s name or title. Data entry business scams do not have anyone to refer to or follow up with.
- When do you start? Data entry business scams want you to begin instantly. They cater to people who really need a job, but most companies know you give notice to your current employer first. They want you to give your current employer notice. There is not a real job waiting for you with scam artists so they are unconcerned about that part.
The job listing will sound great and you will feel as though the position was made for you. It appears most individuals are looking for new opportunities. Data entry job scams are too good to be true and you will begin to be able to point them out from real jobs. They will give you all of the positives a job like that would offer and you will no doubt be excited. You will be so excited that you will get your resume together and send it to them right away. You will feel confident that you will receive a call back. Everything you are feeling at that time is not true because there really isn’t an opportunity. And once they do apply, they are hit with all types of spam in their email and even at the home address that they put on the CV.
