International Suicide Prevention Helplines

If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, help is available.

If you are having thoughts of suicide, speaking to someone can help. You are not alone.

If you are in immediate danger or you think someone is at risk of harm, contact your local emergency services. You can also visit the International Association for Suicide Prevention to find help in your country.

Here are some other country-specific resources.

Canada

If you are in Canada, contact Crisis Services Canada at 833-456-4566. For residents of Quebec, call 866-277-3553 (APPELLE). You can also find information for regional text messaging services on the Crisis Services Canada website.

For additional crisis resources, the Center for Addiction and Mental Health has a list with multilingual options.

Britain

If you are in Britain, contact Samaritans at 116-123 or email jo@samaritans.org. Calls are free and confidential.

If you would like support via text messaging, Shout offers free, confidential advice. Text “shout” to 85258.

Mexico

If you are in Mexico, contact the Línea de la Vida at 800-911-2000 for 24/7 support, or email lalineadelavida@salud.gob.mx.

You can also contact Sistema Nacional de Apoyo, Consejo Psicológico e Intervención en Crisis por Teléfono, or SAPTEL, for free 24/7 support at 55-5259-8121.

India

If you are in India, contact Aasra for 24/7 support at 982-046-6726.
