Gilles Ivaldi

Gilles Ivaldi is a CNRS-affiliated researcher in Politics at CEVIPOF-Sciences-Po. He works on French politics, parties and elections, and has published extensively on the French Front National and the radical right in Europe.

His current research interests also include the comparative study of the populist phenomenon in Western Europe  and the United States in relation to processes of globalization and internationalization, and the intersection of populism and national sovereignty.

His work has appeared in international journals such as Electoral Studies, Political Research Quarterly, West European Politics and French Politics. Gilles Ivaldi has recently published De Le Pen à Trump : le défi populiste (2019) and The 2017 French Presidential Election: A political Reformation? (2018), with Jocelyn Evans.

Since 2016, he has been the French Principal Investigator of the Sub-national context and radical right support in Europe (SCoRE) research project funded by the Open Research Area (ORA) program.
