Emma Watson

Emma Watson spent nearly 10 years bringing the popular book character Hermione Granger to life on the big screen in the "Harry Potter" films. Watson was born in Paris, France on April 15, 1990 to parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, who were both lawyers. At five-years-old, she moved to Oxfordshire, England and started to study acting.

In 1999, casting began for the first Harry Potter movie, which was based off the popular J.K Rowling book, “Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone.” After eight rounds of auditions, she was given the role of Harry Potter’s best friend, Hermione Grangr. Co-stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) played opposite of Watson. She was 10-years-old during the filming of the first movie.

Watson continued to play the intelligent, witty wizard for a decade. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” came out in 2001 and was the highest-grossing movie of that year. The first movie was followed by “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” All of the movies were a huge success. The last movie in the saga made over $1 billion dollars at the box office. There is an amusement park based of off the books and movies at Universal Studios Florida called The Wizarding World of Harry Potter that opened in 2016. Watson got to film some scenes for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride in the park. The cast reunited again in a 2022 reunion special called “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.“

After “Harry Potter,” Watson continued to act in other films including “My Week with Marilyn,” “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” “The Bling Ring,” “This is the End,” “Noah,” “Regression,” "Beauty and the Beast," “The Circle” and “Little Women.”

On top of her successful acting career, Watson also persuaded a college degree. In 2009, she attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and graduated in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in English literature. She also is dating a businessman named Leo Robinton.The two have been linked since 2019.
