Pornography and lockdown have driven a rise in sexual threats by pupils against teachers, a teacher has said, after a survey found one in eight have been physically assaulted by a pupil in the last year.
Speaking at the NASUWT teaching union conference, Wendy Exton, a teacher in alternative provision, said physical assaults had become “part of the job” and it was increasingly common for pupils to threaten to rape, stab or harm their teachers and families.
