I am a New York Times audio producer for “The Daily.”
What I Cover
I pitch ideas and produce episodes on many topics for The Times’s news podcast, focusing on international news with a particular interest in reporting human stories coming out of the Middle East and Africa.
My Background
I joined The Times in 2020 as a member of The Times’s fellowship program for journalists early in their careers, and accepted a permanent role when the fellowship ended. Since then, I have worked on episodes about the Iran nuclear deal, the condition of migration in Europe and the war in Gaza.
I also have a background in music composition and contribute original music to New York Times audio.
I studied culture and politics at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. I am a native speaker of both Arabic and French, and am fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.
I grew up in Aleppo, Syria and I now live in Manhattan.
Journalistic Ethics
Like all Times journalists, I am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook. I aim to be fair and empathetic to the people I cover, regardless of their background and affiliations. I protect my sources, do not accept gifts and do not participate in political causes.
